MATEUSZ PULAWSKI LUNAR QUARTET
Striking romanticism in effortless virtuoso jazz

The Lunar Quartet is a romantic band in many ways. We seek an emotional connection with the listener. We embody individualism in music. We base our songs on extra-musical content, often on the influence of the moon on our lives. Our message is pure and resonates with the audience. The jazz we create is perfectly suited for anyone seeking not only beautiful sounds but also emotion, images, and extraordinary aesthetics. In a word: art.

'Change Of Seasons' (2016)
"Change of Seasons" consists of nine tracks, each telling its own personal story. Some compositions date back to the Polish era, while others were written in Amsterdam. "The changing of the seasons symbolizes the transformation in Mateusz's life after experiencing great difficulties," says Hendrik Müller, bassist of the Mateusz Pulawski Lunar Quartet. Together with tenor saxophonists Itai Weissman and Fernando Sanchez, drummer Aron Nyiro, trumpeter Evgenii Bondarev, and vocalist Esther Van Hees, they create a powerful interplay of virtuoso improvisations and melodies with a deeply grounded groove. The band aims to create jazz suitable for anyone seeking not just beautiful sounds, but also emotion and extraordinary aesthetics.
